Love the Sabbath

After Sabbath Musing – 10/28/02

I love Sabbath.

I love to see the children rush down
to see the name of Hashem
to see them dance
to see them sing

I love the Sabbath.

A young boy in congregation rushed down with mine to see the name of Hashem. When the cantor pointed to the name the boy peered closely, being mindful not to touch the sacred parchment…and he said, “That looks like love.” Doesn’t it though? Doesn’t the very name of Hashem look like love?

I love the Sabbath.

So that you may not claim to be wiser than you are, brothers, I want you to understand this mystery: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. (Rom 11:25 NRS)

Then Jesus(Yeshua) cried aloud: “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. (Joh 12:44 NRS)

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (Mat 3:2 NRS)

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. (Mat 5:16 NRS)

Because I love a good dialogue I approved your comment BringFreedom, but what does it have to do with G-d is Love?

10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the things written in the book of the law.”
11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law; for “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
12 But the law does not rest on faith; on the contrary, “Whoever does the works of the law will live by them.”
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us– for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”–
14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Gal 3:10-14 NRS)

You said “Our family is Torah Observant” in ABOUT US

Paul himself, the source of your comments kept Torah. Read my post:

Paul must have been talking about something different when he said we were free from the CURSE of the law, as opposed to the LAW being a curse. The CURSE of the law is death, through Yeshua we are free from DEATH. Yeshua himself kept Torah and Rabbinic teachings as recorded in the New Testament writings.

    Seems to know what’s wrong.

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to HaShem than sacrifice. (Pro 21:3 NRS)

You seems to insist that HaTorah
Then you obey that all the law(HaTorah)?
Why Shaul said “For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse”
because [“Cursed be anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by observing them.” All the people shall say, “Amen!” (Deu 27:26 NRS)]

I think you did not undorstand Gal 3:10-14

and Shaul was said about his ethnic

For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they have not submitted to God’s righteousness. (Rom 10:3 NRS)

And I’m not a man of who knows the Bible as wrong as you think.
you said “Paul must have been talking about something different”

but I think you are one of misunderstood

    Do not sin anymore

Woe to them! For they go the way of Cain, and abandon themselves to Balaam’s error for the sake of gain, and perish in Korah’s rebellion. (Jud 1:11 NRS)

Said that because to spare you

Don’t you have a post that says women should cover their heads and if they don’t they are breaking G-d’s commandments? Why should it matter if we break that one, but not if we break “thou shalt not eat pork?”

      • BringFreedom December 11, 2012 / 10:06 pm

wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the deepest darkness has been reserved forever. (Jud 1:13 NRS)

Then, the Apostle Paul teaches he should not teaches?

Yes I post but in the bible is written also

but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled disgraces her head– it is one and the same thing as having her head shaved. (1Co 11:5 NRS)

And reason of you having doubts is “Our family is Torah Observant” because your family motto

And I seeing your comments and remember this Scripture

I found more bitter than death the woman who is a trap, whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are fetters; one who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is taken by her. (Ecc 7:26 NRS)

Is not what you say as the judge by appearances. you said “Why should it matter if we break that one, but not if we break “thou shalt not eat pork?”

        Jesus said
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. (Mat 5:17 NRS)

However, we are justified through faith and not through the law as you think.

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law. (Rom 13:10 NRS)

You only have to keep the law, and emphasized that
but bible says are “love is the fulfilling of the law”

20 And he said, “It is what comes out of a person that defiles.
21 For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder,
22 adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly.
23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” (Mar 7:20-23 NRS)

“Don’t you have a post that…” is what is in your heart and defiles me

and “Why should it matter if we break that one, but not if we break ..”

        then why paul said

25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience,
26 for “the earth and its fullness are HaShem’s.” (1Co 10:25-26 NRS)

Are you trying to be justified through the law, so you do not understand.

But I understand, because I seek to be justified by faith.

you said “and if they don’t they are breaking G-d’s commandments?”

Your saying is yourself breaking God’s commandments

        See this
For this reason a woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. (1Co 11:10 NRS)
